About Word Friend
Word Friend was developed by two life-long linguaphiles.
Laurie
Laurie is a former high school English teacher with bachelor's
degrees in Secondary Education and in English with an emphasis in Linguistics.
She also earned a master's degree in Higher Education and Organizational Change
and is currently working toward a PhD in Sociology.
She is aware that she is becoming a professional student.
Matt
Matt is a software developer who loves, among other things,
reading, writing, and playing Scrabble. He has bachelor's
degrees in Art and in Computer Information Systems,
and he tries to exercise both halves of his brain equally.
A dictionary is never more than a few feet away in their home,
and they have found that it is best just to have two
dictionaries in the bedroom - one for each side of the bed.
They are somewhat concerned that their children will turn out hopelessly nerdy.
